STATE SOCCER TOURNAMENT PAIRINGS DRAWN THIS MORNING
A field of 286 boys teams and 248 girls teams are entered as pairings for the 16th annual IHSAA soccer state tournaments were drawn by the IHSAA this morning in Indianapolis.

Boys sectional action at 64 sites will be played Thursday, Oct. 8, and Saturday, Oct. 10. Sixteen regional sites will host semifinal matches Wednesday, Oct. 14, and championship matches on Saturday, Oct. 17. The semi-states will be played Saturday, Oct. 24, and the state finals Saturday, Oct. 31, in Indianapolis.

Top-ranked and two-time defending state champion Evansville Memorial will meet the host in the five-team Evansville Harrison sectional.

The girls sectionals will begin the week after the boys on Monday, Oct. 12, at 32 sites and run through Saturday, Oct. 17. One-match regionals are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 16 sites with the four semi-states on Saturday, Oct. 24. The state finals will be Saturday, Oct. 31.

Carmel’s girls team, ranked first in this week’s state coaches poll, drew host Zionsville in that eight-team sectional.

Defending state champion Evansville Memorial will take on Heritage Hills in the nine-team sectional at Castle.
