“Hoosiers for Henryville" Project Raises More Than $32,000
The Indiana High School Athletic Association is pleased to announce that more than $32,000 was raised through “Hoosiers for Henryville – An Opportunity to Rebuild Henryville Athletics”.

Following the storm devastation that hit parts of southern Indiana in early March, the project was a philanthropic effort to assist those victims in rebuilding the Henryville High School athletic department. The collected funds will be directly wired to the school.

Over the last three weeks, donations were accepted at all IHSAA boys basketball regional, semi-state and state championship games as well as through an on-line donation link at IHSAA.org.

“I am pleased to report that the IHSAA, on behalf of generous and caring Hoosiers, will send a little over $32,000.00 to the Henryville High School athletic department,” says IHSAA Commissioner Bobby Cox. “It is our hope that these funds will augment the efforts to restore Henryville athletics and assist in the healing process within their community.  The IHSAA would like to commend those businesses, athletic conferences, individual schools and groups along with private individuals that made contributions throughout the tournament.”

The IHSAA partnered with Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications (93 WIBC, WFNI-1070 The Fan and Network Indiana’s Indiana Sports Talk) and utilized the IHSAA’s own 18-member Student Advisory Committee.

Located in Clark County about 20 miles north of Louisville, Ky., Henryville is a town of about 1,900 people with a high school of approximately 370 students.
